After two weeks of hanging out with my cherry red Tuff-Luv iPad case, I must admit, it is growing on me. When I first laid eyes on the case I thought, “cute, red, small. But why the excessive amount of black buttons?” After spending a few minutes with the buttons (and at least a few hours wiping my brain of the Pussycat Dolls’ single – Loosen Up My Buttons – playing relentlessly in my head), I started to appreciate the utility of these curious little creatures.
The buttons actually allow you to choose not one, but 5 angles (20 to 70 degrees) to support your iPad while you work/play. Fancy? Not really. But totally fun and functional.
Save yourself from the next wave in physical therapy… The multiple angles alleviate the need to strain your wrists and discourages bad posture while slouching over your iPad for hours. I especially loved the options when I was on the beach in Catalina because I could choose the best angle to avoid the sun’s glare on the screen.
I like that it also doubles as a frame when I want to share a photo display of my latest adventures. Hosting brunch at my home, I used this cool feature. Basically, a portion of the case flap folds under to turn the case into a red leather frame – sort of. At least it allows me to prop up my iPad and run a slideshow without looking too clunky. Certainly an iPad stand is a better option, but I can prop it up and play a slideshow anywhere, anytime, remotely. Good stuff.
A design downfall that makes it a bit tuff to luv is the lack of biz card holder and a handy spot for my stylus. Doesn’t seem too difficult to do and would not add much bulk. The paint in the buttons chips a bit too. Probably an easy fix as well. Maybe they will ask me to join their next design team
While this sassy little napa leather red case has not been the complete answer to my iPad case woes, it is definitely eye-catching, sleek, modestly priced and useful. And it definitely turns heads (mostly ladies of course) at Starbucks!
